Working as an interdisciplinary team with nine students from two different majors (Graphic Design Communication and Animation) students took on the task of addressing the very important topic of sexual violence on campus. With the recent White House Report, Rape and Sexual Assault: A Renewed Call to Action, from January 2014 as a resource, this problem has become a national issue—especially on college campuses. Addressing the issue directly—and working with clients from the Office of Student Life—in an effort to raise awareness students created Brand Identity and Logo, as well as taglines. Picking up from Philadelphia University’s overall tagline of “Powered to…” the students created multiple taglines such as “Powered to Say No,” “Powered to Speak Up,” and “Powered to Be Decent” to coordinate with the Logo. They created an Integrated Public Awareness Campaign including print as well as motion in the form of PSAs (Public Service Announcements). They also created a Mobile Website, Buttons and Stickers. This project was recognized with a Merit Award from Graphis New Talent Design Annual.
